Events & Fundraising
The Wardie Family Forum aims to:
- engage in activities which support and advance the education of pupils attending Wardie Primary School in Edinburgh.
- engage in activities which support the physical, mental and social wellbeing of the pupils as well as recreational facilities available to pupils attending Wardie Primary School
- engage in activities which support the advancement of citizenship and community spirit within the school and among families.
- relieve poverty through the provision of small grants to support families of pupils attending Wardie Primary School.
Events & Fundraising
Our Events group organises social and fundraising events for the school community, and raises funds which we pass on to the school as needed. In the past, we have funded major works such as PE equipment, iPads, and smart screens. If you’ve ever been to our summer fair, one of our zoom quizzes, or our Burn’s Night ceilidh – you’ve experienced what great fun we have!
As a part of this volunteer group you can expect:
- Brainstorming fun new ideas for events and how to raise money for the school
- Be all hands on deck for events (we do take turns, promise!)
- Recruiting additional volunteers for our most popular events
- Being a part of a fun, dynamic group!
If you would like to volunteer on our Events team please email wardiefamilyforum@gmail.com
Sub-groups
We have sub-groups who deliver specific projects and areas of activity, and all parents/carers are welcome to volunteer for a sub-group. These groups meet separately and work independently, reporting back at our WFF meetings. Current sub-groups include:
Events and Fundraising
Formerly the Parent Staff Association (PSA), this group organises social and fundraising events for the school community, and raises funds.
Communications
Helping to improve the lines of communication between school, parents and pupils, and keeping families informed via a range of channels.
Buildings & Environment
Ensuring we maintain good working relationships with the surrounding fields, and buildings; and contribute positively to the surrounding environment. This group also supports the school with regards to issues affecting the school building and surrounds.
Uniform and Lost Property
This group of parent helpers manages the Pre-loved Uniform Sale Rail and new uniform sales, and helps the school to sort out the mountain of lost property.
